Switzerland will turn 723 years old on August 1st. As every year, the Swiss Canadian Mountain Range Association will host a Swiss National Day Celebration at their beautiful chalet in Coquitlam. Seize the opportunity to have a fun evening with other Swiss-Canadians. We would like to invite you to our popular Late Summer Night Reception on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. The invitation is attached in a post of this newsletter. This fundraiser event is organized with the contribution of our corporate member, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (law firm in Vancouver), and the Swiss Consulate in Vancouver. Swiss Mercuria Energy Group Buys J.P. Morgan's Commodity Unit

The Swiss commodity trading company agreed to buy J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.'s physical-commodities unit for $3.5 billion, the biggest deal of its ten-year existence. The deal underscores the ambitions to elevate the company into the top-ranks of the so-called merchant-trading business. Mercuria's Canadian headquarter is in Calgary, Alberta.
