SCCC Newsletter

January 21, 2015

Happy New Year ! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Holiday Season with your family and friends and wish you all the best for a successful 2015.

Switzerland did not wait long to make headlines early in the year. Last week, Switzerland's central bank, the Swiss National Bank (SNB), made the "surprise" announcement to no longer peg the Swiss Franc to the Euro. The monetary policy decision sent the Franc up double digits in intraday trading, a scale of movement that is unprecedented for a major currency in the modern era. Today you need approximately C$ 1.43 to buy one Swiss Franc. You will find plenty of opinions and articles on this subject.

Our first newsletter of the year is full of fresh other news and stories. We take this opportunity to encourage you to share interesting news about your company and take proactive advantage of this communication tool.

There are many interesting events coming up. I would like to mention one in particular; our Annual General Meeting. Please mark your calendar for Friday, April 10, 2015. I would be personally delighted to see you there, as I will be chairing my last AGM, ending my 4 year term as President of our wonderful chamber. Nominations for the 2015 / 2016 board positions are now open. Nomination forms as well as the event details will be sent out shortly.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a valuable member of our chamber and an interested reader of our newsletter.
