In 1988, Thomas set-up the office of Bank Vontobel AG, Vancouver, which is one of Switzerland's largest financial institutions and manages in excess of CAD 100 billion. Vontobel's origin goes back to 1924 and its shares are publicly listed at the Zurich Stock Exchange.

In addition to 4 Swiss-Canadians, the Vancouver office also employs Asian as well as Eastern European staff and is able to communicate in the respective languages. Thomas or his team-members would be delighted to discuss with you on how to invest your international portfolio.
Thomas already has served on the SCCC board of directors for over 10 years, 2 thereof as its President in 1995 and 1996.

Sean Muggah is a senior associate at the Vancouver office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.

Mr. Muggah was admitted to the British Columbia bar in 1998, after articling with the firm. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A., 1992) and McGill University (LL.B. / B.C.L., 1997), and spent his final year of law school on exchange at the National University of Singapore.

Mr. Muggah practices corporate and commercial law, with particular emphasis on mergers & acquisitions, outsourcing, and not-for-profit organizations.

From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Muggah was a foreign legal associate with the law firm of Nishimura & Partners in Tokyo, Japan, where he was involved in a wide variety of international corporate transactions.

Darren is a Sr. Manager in the Vancouver office of Ernst and Young with several years experience in providing service primarily to large multinational public companies. Darren returned to Vancouver in September 2007, having worked 8 years internationally including 6 years in Zurich and 2 years in Silicon Valley.

Darren's exposure to audits of large global companies has allowed him to gain significant technical expertise in complex financial reporting and accounting issues such as derivatives, transfers of financial assets, share-based compensation, complex equity instruments, consolidations, cross-border income tax accounting, as well as accounting for complex debt instruments and foreign currency translation accounting.

Darren is a Certified Public Accountant (California) and has been a Chartered Accountant (British Columbia) since 1998. Darren has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.

In February 2007, Erich Amgwerd took on the role of Executive Director for the SCCC and placed a strong focus on streamlining the operations and modernizing the approach of the Chamber. Within 6 months, the Chamber was re-structured and Erich was elected to the Board of Directors, to spearhead membership initiatives.

Erich's management expertise covers Business Process Engineering, Project Management, Information Technology and Marketing / Communications.

Mr. Amgwerd's extensive international experience was gained working for various Fortune 500 companies in North America, Europe and Asia (including Nortel Networks, Caterpillar, Tiffany & Co.) over the last 10+ years. Erich is a mover & shaker, with a strong educational background and a drive for success.

Currently, Erich manages a portfolio of projects in BioTechnology, Investments, Real Estate and a $1+ Billion project overseas for one of the most prestigious Swiss Banks.

Dr. Christoph Rohner is the owner of ProCanada Consulting, a firm specializing in immigration solutions for newcomers to Canada.
