From September 14th through September 18th, 2009 the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver is bringing a piece of Swiss culture to the streets of Downtown Vancouver! On these dates a traditional Swiss Alphorn musician will perform for 30 minutes in various locations, accompanied by two people in traditional Swiss costume handing out authentic Lindt & Sprüngli Swiss chocolate. The locations of this one of a kind events include:

Monday - The Vancouver Public Library, North Plaza 12:00 - 12:30

Tuesday - Vancouver Art Gallery, North side, 12:00 - 12:30

Wednesday - Canada Place, Main Plaza 12:30 - 1:00

Thursday - Granville Island, Public Market Courtyard, 12:15 - 12:45

Friday - Canada Place, Main Plaza 12:30 - 1:00

The purpose of this event is to promote Swiss traditions and culture, and will also serve to highlight Swiss presence in Vancouver in light of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, during which time Switzerland will have two House of Switzerland Canada 2010 locations. One in Granville Island at Bridges restaurant, and the other in Whistler, at the Mountain Club.
