We talked to David Keene, Growth marketing consultant at Marketingback and Andy Conrad, CEO & Founder

Why is it essential to invest in digital marketing?
Almost everyone has a smartphone these days. Statistics show that Millennials spend an average of 6 hours on the internet every day, and this trend is only going to grow.

If your story isn’t being shared online, then you can bet that almost no one will hear about it. Businesses who have invested sufficiently in digital marketing have seen their brands grow exponentially, whereas those that haven’t are still struggling to find their footing in the current marketing dispensation.

How do you help your clients to achieve their digital marketing goals?
First, we will start with marketing objectives. Marketing objectives are a pivotal part of a marketing strategy. Without defined goals, a brand will struggle with achieving its plans because it won’t be clear on what it wants to do. A straightforward plan is required to know what our clients hope to do and how we plan together on doing it.

Some of the most frequently used marketing objectives we use include the following. The stage and position of their brand, their social presence and two or three specific marketing objectives to focus on. After we have a clear strategy and set the objectives we go to work and start. Obviously from this stage on it really depends on what service we are providing for our clients. With PPC it will be really technical and analytical. With content creation it`s creative and with thinking outside of the box.

To provide the best service possible we have team members that have been in this space for years and are really selective. For example, with PPC we only employ people that have ran campaigns profitable consistently.

How do you differentiate from other Marketing Agencies?
We highly leverage copywriting and content creation with storytelling which only a small number of agencies are able to provide on a high level. Another great point is that we have a really great team that focuses on highly creative results-oriented marketing campaigns. Also, we have some PPC managers which are doing E-commerce by themselves, so most agencies don`t have access to them without a really good network.

Our brand stands out a lot to our competitors as well. We can use a lot of slogans for example: “Marketingback, we got your back”.

What opportunities do you see in the Canadian market?
We see a lot of opportunities in the retail sector like Apparel, Footwear, Jewelry and Consumer Electronics. Also, some fast-growing opportunities are in Cryptocurrency, Fintech and Gaming we are looking to tap into.

What are the biggest challenges for your business?
One of the biggest challenges currently is scaling in the MENA region because they took a massive hit with covid and heavily depend on tourism. They`re also a little bit behind with the B2C industries compared to North America but it`s growing.

Another challenge is staying ahead of industry changes because digital marketing is a constantly changing field. We have always been able to overcome it but it takes a lot of work.

Last but not least: Which is your favorite Swiss chocolate?
Haha good question Sprüngli 😊

Thank you, David and Andy, for taking the time to give us some interesting insights!
