Quality Coffee Systems opens new JURA Hospitality Centre in Burnaby

Our business member Quality Coffee Systems (QCS) has officially opened the latest JURA Canada Hospitality Centre. It is the 37th Hospitality Centre for the Swiss company JURA. This important milestone was celebrated with a grand opening event on 29 August 2022, where the guests were able to visit the new Hospitality Centre and get first-hand insights into JURA’s latest product innovations.

On August 29, 2022, Quality Coffee Systems, JURA Canada, and the JURA head office were all set for the official opening ceremony of the 37th JURA Hospitality Centre. It was a perfect day with blue sky, warm temperatures, great guests and a wonderful setup for this milestone event.

In the afternoon, the guests slowly arrived at the JURA coffee corner, where they could enjoy their espresso, coffee specialties and other refreshments to start the event with some extra energy. The event commenced with an opening speech by Roger Knecht (CEO QCS) including a territory acknowledgment note for the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking people. A panel discussion followed with Emanuel Probst (CEO JURA) and Lorenzo DiDonato (VP Marketing FAEMA), hosted by Chris Papastathopoulos (JURA Sales Manager, Canada). The participants got interesting insights into the global JURA strategy, new innovations, brand awareness and the future of super-automatic espresso machines. Also one of the first highlights was the North American première of the new JURA E8 and Z10 advertisement clips starring the one and only JURA Ambassador – Roger Federer! Afterwards, Andreas Rufer (Consul General of Switzerland, Western Canada) addressed the audience with a few words highlighting the excellent relationship between Canada and Switzerland, as well as the great connection to the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce with Fabian Lemann (Director Sales & Marketing at QCS) being the chairman of the organization. Furthermore, the Consul General underlined that companies like JURA represent Swiss quality around the globe.

The official ribbon cut ceremony followed which was opened by Elder Eugene Harry (Shaker Church Minister, Squamish Nation). He gave his blessing and protection for the new JURA Hospitality Centre, Western Canada. Later, the ribbon was finally cut and the JURA Hospitality Centre was officially opened. Afterwards, everyone was invited to learn more about the new service center, showroom, as well as some of the newest JURA machines.

After a wonderful and well-organized afternoon, a short bus drive took the party to Granville Island where the guests boarded a dinner cruise. A perfect day was rounded off by drinks, laughs and a fantastic sunset in the Burrard Inlet. Before the boat redocked many guests took the opportunity to enjoy a last cup of bean-to-cup espresso from a JURA machine.
