To end the year on a festive note, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) was pleased to once again host the annual Christmas reception with the closing of the online silent auction. Despite the snowstorm, about 70 SCCC members, friends and donors made their way to downtown Vancouver for a lovely evening of delicious appetizers, good conversations, networking and lots of bidding on one of the great silent auction items.
On November 29, the SCCC hosted the highly anticipated 2022 Christmas Reception, with approximately 70 members, friends and donors coming together to enjoy a lovely evening. SCCC President Fabian Lemann opened the event with a short welcome speech and gave an overview of what is to come in the new year. Little hint: The SCCC has a lot of great events in store for 2023.
Afterwards, attendees had the opportunity to meet old and new friends and place their final bids before the end of the online silent auction. As the auction was hosted online again this year, it was great to see that many people who did not attend the event, either because they live far away or stayed at home due to the snowstorm, also participated in the bidding. Towards the end of the silent auction things got exciting and nerve-wracking as there were some bidding battles going on. However, everyone went home as a winner with a smile on their face and one or the other item from our silent auction. This year we had a fantastic prize catalogue with over 100 items and were able to set a new record for proceeds.
