The Swiss and cheese is a love story that does not end when you move abroad. So it’s no surprise that the annual Fondue Night hosted by the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Canadian Mountain Range Association was a huge success. More than 80 people came together to share their love of one of the most popular Swiss dishes – the fondue.  The tastefully decorated chalet created a cozy atmosphere and made each and every Swiss expat feel as if they were at home in the Swiss Alps.

VIP Meet & Greet with the Swiss Athletes – FIS Nordic Junior / U 23 World Ski Championship

From January 27 to February 5, 2023, the FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships took place at Whistler Olympic Park. More than 530 athletes from 38 countries competed for the World Champion titles in Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, and Nordic Combined. Switzerland was also represented in Whistler and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver and the SCCC decided to use this great opportunity to organize a VIP Meet & Greet with the Swiss athletes on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the VIP area hosted by Nordiq Canada.

Christmas Reception & Silent Auction 2022

To end the year on a festive note, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) was pleased to once again host the annual Christmas reception with the closing of the online silent auction. Despite the snowstorm, about 70 SCCC members, friends and donors made their way to downtown Vancouver for a lovely evening of delicious appetizers, good conversations, networking and lots of bidding on one of the great silent auction items.

With one of Switzerland’s top soccer players coming to town for a game with his club Chicago Fire FC, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce couldn’t miss this fantastic opportunity to organize a special networking event for its members and friends. In partnership with Whitecaps FC, the SCCC organized a networking event on Saturday, July 23, 2022, featuring a pre-game Q&A session with Axel Schuster, CEO & Sporting Director, Whitecaps FC and Georg Heitz, Sporting Director, Chicago Fire FC. And yes, this one time it was allowed to cheer on the other team! Hopp, Xherdan!

On June 15, 2022, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Consul General of Switzerland, Andreas Rufer, welcomed the members of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce and guests to the annual and much anticipated Summer Night Reception at the beautiful Residence of the Swiss Confederation in West Vancouver. It was great seeing many old and new faces of the SCCC coming together and having a great time.

On Saturday, June 04, 2022, the SCCC members had the pleasure of attending the Fraser Valley Bandits basketball game against the Saskatchewan Rattlers at the Langley Events Centre. Organized by the Fraser Valley Bandits, this Multi-Chamber Networking event was a great opportunity for SCCC members and their friends to meet with business leaders from across the Lower Mainland and to participate in a fast-paced CEBL experience with great music, food and lots of action!

For the members of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), it was time to hit the slopes of Grouse Mountain after work on 04 March 2022 and ski or snowboard above the city lights of Vancouver. True to the motto “after sport comes reward”, the evening was rounded off with a nice dinner at the chalet.
